Mick Reinman has been described as a painter’s painter. Mick lives and works in Ojai, California. He attended Chouinard Art Institute and has been a working artist and painter for 25 years, using his drawing and painting skills to work in the entertainment industry on movies, advertising and commercials.
The foundation of this work derived from a figurative form developed over several years. The Form as a horizontal shape becomes architectonic and Jungian, as in an exit/entrance/door/window. Two forms facing one another create tension in the space between them and in their opposing surfaces. The Greek crosses grew out this format, creating a nine square grid, and become painted, confined negative spaces. The CUT series represents a further deconstruction. This work creates a place for art, architecture and symbolism to coexist.
